A little update

Well I haven't wrote for a while, and the last time I wrote I was pretty bummed out. So I'm happy to say that we're doing good! We finally figured out what was going on with Rick's bladder and what was causing infections and stuff, so hopefully we can stay on top of that and not get them anymore. I would go into detail about what was going on but it's along story and all that matters is that he's better. We finally got to go to therapy a couple weeks ago and we thought that Rick would be pretty weak since we didn't go for so long and we figured that therapy wouldn't go so well. But.... Rick kicked butt!!!!!!! He had more endurance than ever before and he was able to do so much stuff! His therapist was so impressed with him! And his therapist felt both of his hip flexors firing and his glute muscle on the right side firing. He's doing so good! I'm so proud of you Rick! Keep up the hard work... we're getting closer!

Well Tuff has definely become part of our little family. It feels like we have a little toddler running around. He'a alot of work but man he's dang cute. I feel so guilty every time we have to leave him home by himself. We're still working on the potty training thing but he's getting better. If anybody has tips on training a puppy let me know!!

We went to Cedar city this last weekend and hung out with my college roommate Katie and her new husband, and Rick's childhood friend bobbie and his wife. It was so much fun! We went and saw the movie Mallcop, and it was hilarious! I recommend it to everyone! But it was really fun to hang out with friends and just have a good time. We are so blessed to have such wonderful friends everywhere! Well hopefully the good updates keep coming!!

Blah

Well I don't have much exciting news to tell... or really good news for that matter. Rick got sick a little over a month ago with a bladder infection. We got him on antibiotics for a week and then we thought he was better. Well about two days later we realized he wasn't better and we went back to the doctors. His antibiotic wasn't strong enough the first time so they put him on another one that was stronger and longer. Then we got done with that and arond Christmas time Rick started having all these symptoms and stuff he's never had before. He couldn't even sit up for 1 minute without passing out. So a couple days later he kept getting sicker and sicker so we took him to the ER last Saturday. We learned there that he was on the wrong antibiotics the whole time and they took a culture before but never bothered to call us and tell us that his infection was resistant to the pills he was on. So pretty much he had a bladder/kidney infection that kept getting worse and worse and no pills were killing it. So now once again he's on antibiotics that are hopefully killing it for reals this time. But these pills make him feel pretty crappy and tired all the time. And his body is spending so much energy trying to kill this infection is has no energy to do anything else. We haven't been to therapy in 3 weeks, but hopefully next week we'll be able to go. Sorry to just vent like this, we are both just so tired of infections and pills and doctors and hospitals and tears and frustration and being scared and the whole deal. Rick keeps saying he's so sick of not being able to tell people good news, but we just have to keep hanging in there. Good news has to be on it's way.

Holiday update

We had a wonderful holiday! We got to spend time with our families and friends and eat lots and lots of good food! Me and Rick spent Christmas eve with each other, which was weird for me becasue it was the first Christmas eve I wasn't at my parents house. But it was nice to just be with Rick. It didn't really feel like a holiday, and it probably won't till we have little kids that get way excited, but it was still a nice day. We went to Rick's parents on Christmas day, and all of his siblings and families came. It was really fun. I took Tuff with is because I knew we'd be gone all day, and that was interesting to say the least. At first he was good because he was shy and just stayed on Rick's lap. But then he started to warm up.... and oh boy!!! He wanted to play with everything, and chew everything, and chase little kids that didn't want to be chased, and go potty anywhere except for outside. But I guess he did pretty good for a puppy. The day after Christmas my brother Travis and his family, and my brother Shay, and my parents all came to our house. It was so fun to have everyone at our house this year. But we really missed my brother and sister in law, Chad and Tiff and the boys, but we'll get to see them this year! My family stayed with us for a few days and it was so fun. We had alot of wii tournaments!!

I can't believe it's already a new year. This last year doesn't even feel like it's real or it even happened. It was by far the hardest year I've ever had in my life, but hopefully that just means every year keeps getting better from here. We never expected we'd ever have a year like this one, but we just have to keep our faith and hope that this year will be so much better! I'm excited for this 2009 because I think wonderful things are going to happen! I believe we'll get our miracle!! So here's a toast to 2009. A year hopefully full of more smiles and less tears, a year full of more love and happiness and less heart ache and fear. A year full of gathering of friends and family to celebrate holidays and fun and here's to a year FULL of MIRACLES!!
